River Etiquette Guidelines

  • Most land along the creek is privately owned. Respect private property by staying in your boat. Only debark at sandbars, islands and rock ledges.
  • Securely bag and carry out all trash including food scraps, plastic wrappers, cans and disposable water bottles.
  • Maintain control of your craft. Downstream traffic has the right of way. Allow adequate distance to maneuver and stop.
  • Give fishermen a wide berth.
  • Moderate voices and music.
  • Enjoy the abundant wildlife but do not approach, shout at, disturb or handle river animals.
  • Remember you share the river environment with landowners, other paddlers and wildlife. Your actions affect everyone’s experience.
