Whitewater Kayaking Frequently Asked Questions

Location:

Potomac River below Great Falls md. - Meet at the parking lot across from Old Angler's Inn Restaurant, near Potomac, MD.

Time:

• weekend 8:30 to 2:00 sampler-other 8:30 to 11:00
• Paddling Club Weekend 3:15 pm Weekday 5:30 pm
• evening 5:30pm to 8:00pm

Please check all parking lots for outdoor excursions vehicle or trailer. This includes the very upper lot. You will be getting wet- the water can be cold and the sun fierce. We provide boat-paddle-helment-pfd-but For your comfort and enjoyment, we suggest you bring:

• Sunscreen
• Thermal top/rain shell (cotton not recommended) or in very hot weather, a T-shirt
• Hat for sun protection
• Sunglasses & glasses retainers
• Light sneakers or sport sandals
• Plenty of water to drink
• Nose clips help
• Lunch if you are in a sampler or staying for two lessons

Directions:

From I-495, Capital Beltway: Exit at 41 marked Clara Barton Parkway/Carderock going towards Great Falls, MD. Heading away from Washington DC, continue on the Clara Barton Parkway for 1.6 miles until it dead ends at MacArthur Blvd. Take a left on MacArthur and continue 1 mile, the parking lots will be on your left. Look for the gray and purple Outdoor Excursions vehicle.

Cancellation Policies:

There will be no refunds for cancellations, no shows, or late arrivals. Outdoor Excursions reserves the right to cancel any trip due to unsafe water or weather condition. If a total cancellation is made by Outdoor Excursions a full refund will be given.

Sea Kayaking Frequently Asked Questions

Location:

Eastport section of Annapolis, MD at the Springriver store: 311 Third St. (Please park on the street, not in the lot) Time: 9:30 am-2:00 pm

You will be getting wet- the bay can be cold and the sun fierce. We provide boat-paddle-pfd but for your comfort and enjoyment, we suggest you bring:

• Thermal top/rain shell (cotton not recommended) or in very hot weather, a T-shirt
• Hat for sun protection
• Sunglasses & glasses retainers
• Light sneakers or sport sandals
• Sturdy water bottle
• Lunch or money to go out and eat

Directions:

From DC, take rt. 50 East towards Annapolis. Exit at exit 24, Rowe Blvd. towards Bestgate Rd./Annapolis. Keep right at the fork in the ramp. After about a mile, veer left onto Northwest St. Enter the next roundabout and exit onto Duke of Gloucester St., which soon turns into 6th St. Cross the bridge and turn left onto Severn Ave; turn left onto Third St. after three blocks.
