You will be getting wet- the River can be cold and the sun fierce. For your comfort and enjoyment, we suggest you bring:

• Sunscreen
• Thermal top/rain shell (cotton not recommended) or in very hot weather, a T-shirt
• Hat for sun protection
• Sunglasses & glasses retainers
• Light sneakers or sport sandals
• Sturdy water bottle

 

Directions:

From I-495, the Capital Beltway: Exit onto 270 north towards Fredrick. Travel for 32 miles untill reaching I-70, exit onto I-70 westbound. Travel 4.5 miles to Alt. 40. Exit at the Alt. 40 Braddock Heights/ Middletown exit. Turn left/west at the intersection. Travel 11.5 miles west on Alt 40 to the town of Boonsboro.

From Route 15: take Route 7 or the Dulles Toll Road west towards Leesburg. Near Leesburg get on Route 15 North. After crossing the Potomac River travel about 1 mile and turn left onto 464 towards Brunswick. After 6.5 miles turn right at the light. Travel 2 miles to 340 and turn onto 340 west. Travel 2.5 miles. Exit at highway 67, the Boonsboro exit. Turn right and travel 10 miles to Alt 40. Turn left/west onto Alt. 40. Travel .5 miles to the town of Boonsboro.

In the town of Boonsboro: turn left at the intersection of Alt. 40 and Potomac St./Route 34. Travel 2 miles on 34 West. Turn right onto Wheeler Road. Travel 1 mile on Wheeler Road untill the road reaches a "T" intersection. Turn left at this intersection onto Girl Scout Road. Travel to the dead end and turn right after the mailboxes onto Osage Drive. Follow Osage Drive to the Outdoor Center. Please drive slowly on Osage Drive.

 

Cancellation Policies:

There will be no refunds for cancellations, no shows, or late arrivals. Outdoor Excursions reserves the right to cancel any trip due to unsafe water or weather condition. If a total cancellation is made by Outdoor Excursions a full refund will be given.
